Remember how jack-o-lanterns had a face lift last month? This month, it’s time for you to spruce up your holiday wreaths.
Wreaths make your home feel wonderfully festive. They are a holiday decorating favorite. And this year at JBF we are loving these fresh takes on the classic wreath using alternative materials.
Maybe they don’t smell as great as fresh pine, but these DIY wreaths are fun and can be re-used for Christmases to come. Here are some new ideas for making an unexpected wreath this holiday season:
1. Paper Wreaths
What a fun way to recycle! Wreaths can be used from tissue paper, wrapping paper, book pages, coffee filters, or newspapers. Need a craft for the kids? An origami wreath can be a fun holiday craft for children.

2. Edible Wreaths
Chile peppers, fruit, gourds, corn husks–wreaths never looked so delicious. Use fruits and vegetables to create a gorgeous, colorful wreath this holiday season. We love the idea of using fresh lemons in a wreath. Can you imagine a lemon-scented entry way? Bliss.

3. Funky Wreaths
These funky wreaths are cool and unexpected. Ornaments, twigs, pine cones, and gardening items like a rake can be used to make a fun and re-usable wreath for the holidays. Your options are limitless. What a great way to upcycle your seemingly “junk” items.
