It is sometimes hard to get your kids to eat salads (or any sort of vegetables) especially if your salad is made the same way every time. Mix it up with some fun toppings that the kids will love! You can still eat healthy while satisfying your kids appetite and avoid making a boring, unsatisfying salad. Here are 10 summer salad recipes to try at home or pack in a container for an on-the-go lunch!
1. Egg and Tuna Salad
Ingredients: Bibb lettuce, roasted potatoes, steamed green beans, halved cherry tomatoes, tuna, hard boiled eggs, white beans, vinaigrette, basil
2. Strawberry Arugula Salad
Ingredients: Arugula, strawberries, toasted (or candied) walnuts, goat cheese, balsamic vinaigrette
3. Salmon Caesar Salad
Ingredients: Romaine lettuce, grilled salmon, pan-roasted chick peas, shredded parmesan cheese, caesar dressing
4. Steak Salad

If you are really trying to eat healthy, you can try swapping candied nuts for raw nuts. Be careful with what dressings you choose to add- most dressings add a lot of calories! Make sure you are not over portioning the toppings to maintain a healthy salad.
